So Quit Facebook day came and went with a bit of a whimper. It got lots of press, but at the end of the day, the solution it proposed to Facebook’s less-than-honourable privacy play was just too radical. The problem is that we want to continue to connect with our friends and family and right [...]

I just finished reading Seth Goldstein’s very cool article in Tech Crunch and he got me thinking. Is Marshall McLuhan’s famous postulation “the medium is the message” actually going to unravel at the hands of social media? Seth points out that social media “has led to an Internet experience based less on pages and more on people…” [...]

Google is famous for its philosophic credo “Do no evil.” But do a quick google search on “Is Google Evil?” and you’ll see a ton of opinion that states Google is just too big, and knows too damned much, and have concluded that they have indeed crossed over into evil empire territory. Google’s recent addition of sidewiki is another example.  Lies [...]

There’s been ton’s of press lately about Facebook and Twitter competing to be the pinnacle of social networks. So. The old inaugural post. I’ll start with a little bit about my take on the implications of technology  making the world so connected. What it comes down to is a huge increase in the kind of power people – regular people – have in the world. A shared video can start a global protest.  [...]

About this blog

I’m Mark Makuch. I’ve been a strategic digital agency guy for about 10 years, based in Toronto. I'm currently the Digital Director at Euro RSCG Life Canada.
